1936 News: “Former Woman Athlete Weds Girl Following Sex Change Operation” #gender#history

PLYMOUTH, Eng., Aug. 11 (Ul).—Mark Weston, 30—the former woman athlete, Edith Weston, who underwent a sex change operation two months ago—was married yesterday to Alberta Bray, for years his girl friend while he still was a girl. They were married secretly at the Plymouth registrar’s office.

Weston was one of England’s greatest “women” athletes until surgeons informed him he had the, option or remaining a woman or becoming a man. It was said the possibility of marriage to Miss Bray was one of the reason’s that impelled him to seek complete masculinity.

Two operations were, performed at Charing Cross hospital after which Weston, who had held the women’s shotput and javelin titles, was given a certificate which read:

“Mr. Mark Weston, who was always brought up as a female, is male and should continue life as such.” 

First known report of “gay marriage” in America? It seems to also report on issues that arise from not having clear laws concerning dissolving a “domestic co-partnership”.

The article reads:

…As we understand the story, it is Louisa and Sarah, both maiden ladies of no particular age, became enamored of Mr. Miller’s doctrines, and embraced the theory of the speedy consumption of the world’s history. They subsequently fell in love with each other, and fearing that time would not afford them an opportunity of making any other disposition of their love, they entered into a domestic co-partnership, and took each other for better or for worse. Sarah was the richest, and physically the weakest. She had some property; and by mutual agreement she was to furnish the capitol, while Louisa was to do the housework; and the profits – that is, a home and a living as long as time and money should last – were to be divided between the two…

The article goes on to describe how the end of the world did not occur as Millerism (the forerunner to the Seventh Day Adventists faith) taught, Louisa left Sarah and Sarah, being distraught, sought to have Louisa arrested by claiming that she had $40 of Sarah’s money. It would be interesting to discover how a court dealt with this issue since this couple had agreed to split their belongings.

The TG Archive says it was interested in this bit of history because marriage is one of our culture’s most powerful institution for instilling and enforcing cultural gender norms. Behold the evil that is the transgender Borg collective!

As you know, the transsexual community is under constant attack from the Borg collective known as the “transgender community”. I have now uncovered undeniable proof that those damn nonsensical transgender people have been working to enslave the transsexual community since at least 1986 when this group of gender terrorists declared their treasonous intentions.

It’s chilling! This decoration of war was issued to the transsexual community in issue number 49 of something called the “TV-TS Tapestry.” You know the magazine seeks to subvert the transsexual identity because it lists Transvestites first in their name before Transsexuals. Obviously this reflects the desire of transvestites to obfuscate what it means to be transsexual! 

Clearly these goals, should they be achieved in any form, would destroy the lives of each and ever transsexual (and by “transsexual” I of course mean TRUE post-op transsexuals). Thank goodness that the “transgender community” has been completely ineffective in obtaining any of their selfish goals!

(Do I really need to explain that my commentary on this mid-1980s peek into the goals, values and vision of the transgender community is satire?)

1847 Transman Arrested

The article reports that a biological female was arrested after attempting to date a woman while dressed as a man; the article is full of culturally-driven declarations on the morality of binary gender archetypes. Eliza McCormick of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada was taken into custody after having lived in various male personas for about 3 years after (s)he made a marriage proposal to a woman. The article details how social shame was used to successfully force McCormick to comply with local gender norms after McCormick was jailed.

Compton’s Cafeteria and Dewey’s Transgender Protests

Matchbook from Compton’s Cafeteria: The Compton’s Cafeteria Riot occurred in August 1966 in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco. This incident was the second recorded transgender riot in United States history, preceding the more famous 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City by three years. Cooper’s Riot in 1958 was the first trans-instigated GLBT rights riot; Stonewall was the 3rd.

Matchbook from Dewey’s: The Dewey’s Lunch Counter Sit-In and Protest (AKA, Dewey’s Coffee Shop Protest ) happened in April 25, 1965. One hundred and fifty “gender non-conforming” people showed up at Dewey’s to protest the way the establishment treated the GLBT community. After 3 protesters refused to leave after being denied service, they, along with a black gay activist, were arrested. This lead to a picket of the establishment organized by the black GLBT community. In May, another sit-in was organized and Dewey’s finally agreed to end their discriminatory policies. This militant action preceded the Stonewall Riots in New York City by four years.

The Janus Society had this to say about the event: “All too often there is a tendency to be concerned with the rights of homosexuals as long as they somehow appear to be heterosexual, whatever that is. The masculine woman and the feminine man are looked down upon…but the Janus Society is concerned with the worth of the individual and the manner in which she or he comports himself. What is offensive today we have seen become the style of tomorrow, and even if what is offensive today remains offensive to some persons tomorrow, there is no reason to penalize non-conformist behavior unless their is direct anti-social behavior connected with it.”

• The TRANSGENDER community supported the mayor of Houston - an out lesbian - into politics.
• We have the 2nd openly TRANSGENDER judge in the nation
• Houston is home to the only TRANSGENDER Center and Archive in the nation
• Houston enjoys a Executive Order protecting TRANSGENDER people from discrimination.

Lesson: Don’t buy it when you’re told that where you live is too right-wing to move trans rights forward or that if all trans folk band together, transsexuals and intersex people won’t get their rights!

Texas Family Code § 2.005(b)(8)states that a marriage license can be issued for a valid marriage if someone shows proof of a “sex change.” You’d think that term is fairly self-explanatory, wouldn’t you? Well, if you think so, you’d be wrong. See, for the ethically challenged lawyers of Heather Delgado, proof of a “sex change” means proof of “unchanged sex”. Seriously.

Heather Delgado’s lawyer (who was banned from practicing law for ethical violations) Ed Burwell and Chad Ellis claimed that in Texas law, proof of a “sex change” means that one is showing proof that there has been no “sex change”. Yes, black is white and up is down.
